HISTORY

Robert Sanderson, fresh from graduate school at Montana State University, joined with long-time Billings area engineer and surveyor, Jack Mueller, to form Engineering, Inc. in 1969. A few years later another Billings native, John Stewart, joined the firm, and the rest as they say is history.

Under Bob and John’s leadership, the company evolved over the next 30 or so years from a traditional civil engineering and land surveying company into the go-to firm for land development services in the Billings area. While the firm’s success largely mirrored the various periods of growth and decline in the Montana economy, through it all the firm became a strong and stable presence in the community.

In 2002, long-time employees, Michael Sanderson, Rick Leuthold and Dennis Randall purchased the firm. With a new energy and vision for the future, the firm has since expanded its geographic reach and its service offerings. Today, we are a collaborative and multi-disciplinary community development services firm serving clients throughout the West.
